7 Chicago Summer Events You Will LOVE

Ready to get out and enjoy the weather? Don’t miss out on these events this Chicago summer! 

Taste of Chicago

This event is held on multiple days throughout the summer. On Saturdays, June 11, 18 & 25 of 2022, there will be taste pop-ups and music events throughout the neighborhood’s of Chicago. On Friday–Sunday, July 8–10, 2022, there will be a bite-sized Taste in Grant Park. This will showcase about 30–40 eateries and food trucks each day, and have three mainstage evening concerts. Chicago Blues Festival

This event is held on July 9th through the 12th, at Millenium Park. The admission is free citywide. There is a diverse lineup celebrating the blues’ past, present and future. It will shine a spotlight on on R&B, gospel, rock, hip hop and more. For more information click HERE.

Chicago Air and Water Show

This event is on August 20th and 21st, of 2022. The time it will be showing is from 10 am until 2 pm.This air and water show is the largest FREE show of its kind in the U.S. To find out where it can be viewed, click HERE.

Chicago Summer Dance

This event is citywide, and includes pop-ups and special events. There are some Night Out in the Park events and programs at the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park. It is held on select dates throughout July 6th through September 17th, 2022. This is for anyone at any level wanting to take introductory dance lessons. There will be professional instructors, with live music and dancing. Come to watch or party! The Summer Dance Celebration in Millennium Park is on September 17, and everyone is admitted for free. Skokie Backlot Bash

This event is held on August 26th through the 28th, of 2022. It is located at Oakton St. and Floral Ave., Skokie. It holds a large carnival midway, a 5K Run, a children’s stage, kid’s activities, classic films, an auto show, bingo, a sponsor and community resource fair, exhibits at the Skokie Heritage Museum, a Sunday pancake breakfast and farmer’s market, and more! Lincoln Park Greek Fest

This event is held on multiple days throughout the summer. On Friday, June 3rd, from 5pm to 11pm; Saturday, June 4th, from noon to 11pm; and Sunday, June 5th, from noon to 10 pm. It is located at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 2701 N. Sheffield Ave. Chicago, IL. It is a FREE event, but a $10 suggestion is recommended and appreciated. There will be authentic flavorful food, great music, dancing and pure fun. For more information visit their website HERE. 

Hyde Park Summer Fest

This event is held on June 11th and 12th, 2022, from noon until 10pm. It will be located at Midway Plaisance, Chicago, IL. This festival brings culture, entertainment, and fun to one of Chicago’s Iconic Neighborhoods. They have a line-up of some of the best hip-hop and house DJs while serving Chicago cuisine, local breweries, and supporting local businesses. Tickets are not free, and they are going fast.
